2007 REALTORS® Conference & Expo is NEXT WEEK!

The games are about to begin! That’s right, next week is the 2007 National Association of REALTORS® Conference & Expo at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. I’m super excited for this show, and not because it’s in Las Vegas since I was just there a few months ago. This is my first massive trade show, and I’m stoked to be representing our company and attending some really great seminars. The two that I’m the most excited about are on
Tuesday and Friday. Tuesday afternoon there is a seminar given by Seth Godin, author of Permission Marketing, Purple Cow, and a great blog that I subscribe to (speaking of Seth speaking[heh]). Friday at the close of the show there’s another presentation being given by Scott Bedbury, marketing genius behind Nike’s “Just Do It” campaign and Starbucks’ marketing campaigns.
There are just so many learning opportunities for me at this conference, not only in the way of marketing but also networking and trade shows. I hope to really knock the ball out of the park on this one. Unfortunately we’re also working on some changes to our affiliate program over here, and that all has to be postponed until we return from the show on the 19th. But those changes will be exciting as well in their own right!

In as much as I don’t have a routine on the weekends, I do have one. I don’t get up and read the Sunday paper, or hit every yard sale in town. I don’t have a weekly dinner with family, and I don’t dress in my finest frocks to head to church. My one weekend ritualistic task is to read PostSecret. I was sent there a few years ago, and it never fails to touch my heart every week. Each Sunday when Frank Warren posts the new batch, there’s always one I relate to. Always one I think could be aimed at me. Always makes me think about how to work on myself.

An inspirational video of one man’s phenomenal weight loss journey. I don’t know this blogger, but the man he highlights in this post, Dustin, is very near and dear to me, and is one of my personal heroes. No, he hasn’t done much, but he’s done a lot for me.
True, this isn’t really related to marketing or my job other than to say that this is viral like a mofo, because he’s also now mentioned on Diet.com. Incredible!
