Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel Review

Posted on May 9, 2015 in Beauty, Reviews |

You probably remember the horrible pictures from September when I was attacked by my cat Lunchbox.  Since then, I’ve used straight aloe vera, vitamin E, and other scar reduction ointments to try to diminish the scars, primarily the two large ones on my face.  I was given the opportunity to try out Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel and HOLY CRAP I’m so glad I did. #premiumscargel I was supplied with this product complimentary for review. Opinions are 100% mine.

Healing Touch Premium Scar GelProduct Specs

Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel is a 30 Gram container, which doesn’t sound like much but there’s plenty here.  I’ve been using it for more than a month almost twice per day as recommended (hey, I forget sometimes) and there’s easily over 2/3 left.  It boasts a light scent but honestly, I have to put my nose practically in the jar to smell anything.  It comes with a satin pouch which, is useless really to for the packaging but a nice little touch, and can always be re-purposed.  Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel retails on Amazon.com for $35.01 for the 30g container, which is actually not that bad considering the price of the #1 result for “scar removal” on Amazon, Mederma, is $17.

Use

I really wish I’d found this stuff and shelled out the $35 originally instead of wasting at least that much on pure aloe vera, vitamin e oil, and Mederma.  I used the aloe vera and vitamin e oil for about a month with no real results except an oily face.  It kept the area moisturized, but hell, my regular facial moisturizer could do that.  In just one month of using Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel, the raised scars on my forehead have started to flatten and are far less noticeable.  I wish I’d taken a better before picture to show you, but considering this is what I looked like 30 days after the attack, this is leaps and bounds improved! 30 Days of Healing Touch Premium Scar GelI do like the fact that this is gel and not like an ointment or oil or cream.  The gel is lightly cooling and doesn’t feel heavy on my skin, which if you’re a long time reader, you know that’s my major beef with most facial moisturizers and is what lead me to start using Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer in the first place.  With this gel, I can easily apply it and walk out the door ready to go.  There’s no wait time for it to soak in, or de-grease, or anything like that.  It doesn’t make my forehead feel like an oil slick and it makes application actually a somewhat pleasant experience. I wish I had something negative to say about this stuff, so it doesn’t sound like I’m just singing the praises of something I got for free, but it’s seriously wonderful.  If I had to nitpick something, I do think the price is a tad high, even for something so premium.  With the average scar reduction product costing around $20, I could see this going for $25 or $30 and still making a killing, but $35 is more than $1 per gram of this stuff, and I think that’s probably a little costly.  But then again, when it comes to scars on my FACE, $35 is still way better than, say, cosmetic surgery!

HealingTouch-03Verdict

Once I run out of this jar I got for free, I’ll buy another.  Because I thought I’d be stuck with these awful scars on my forehead for the rest of my life.  I’m already self-conscious enough as it is about my looks… I didn’t need two massive scars in the middle of my face to help THAT issue!  But this has seriously given me some hope and I can see a light at the end of the tunnel where, maybe they never 100% vanish, but at least they won’t be sticking out attracting attention to themselves.
