Hitchhiking Ghosts Mason Jar Luminary

With my upcoming trip to Disneyland, I started pinning projects to a new #DisneySide board months ago when my friends & I finally settled on a date.  One of the crafts I came across while scouring Pinterest for Disney or Disneyland related crafts that were more adult was not something I could use for our trip, but something I loved the idea of: a Hitchhiking Ghosts Mason Jar Tutorial.  It looked cool, and I’d bought a vector silhouette file of Phineas, Ezra, & Gus last year, but it was needlessly complicated.  So I hacked it and came up with my own.

Hitchhiking Ghosts LuminaryIn the original tutorial, they used a clear jar, some purple paint, and an artist marker.  They provided a black and white image to print out to use as a stencil to then trace with the artist marker, and continue to fill the whole thing in with an artist marker, then roll the paint around inside.

No, no no.  Ain’t nobody got time for that.  Especially someone with a Cricut Explore die-cutting machine.

I decided that I’d use black vinyl and the vector file I’d bought last year to skip the tree and the fence shown in their printable image and just stick with the fellas.  I’ve seen bona fide Ball Heritage Collection Quart Jars in purple before, so I decided to skip the paint and just get the dark purple jars.  Then I topped it off with a battery-operated candle from Dollar Tree.

BOOM!  I think it came out great (though I admit… not the greatest picture).  It was kind of a hassle to get Gus on over the writing, but still looks great.  I think I could even boost the size of the candle in there if I wanted.  And best of all (for you), I’ve decided to sell them through my Storenvy site!

Buy your Hitchhiking Ghosts Mason Jar Luminary for $10!

Come on foolish mortals… do you have room for one more?
