Cribbed Content for November 14th

I hate to say it, but I feel like I’ve been slacking on this blog for some time now. Ever since the beginning of October after my whirlwind trips to CJU, BlogWorldExpo, and then the Social Media Marketing Summit and the notes I was able to post from there, I’ve kinda let things go into auto-pilot, with only a few really good posts that were original content.
I also tried to work on a new blog, Beach Front Office, a chronicle of working at home and telecommuting. However, I’m not so sure if I should be separating that information into a new blog or including it into this one. My original intent for TrishaLyn.com was to be a whimsical look at marketing and my career as a young woman. I feel like I really do have a unique take on most things as I am learning as I go and don’t have a marketing degree – just a theatre arts dramatic writing one. So, I ask of those kind readers – which would you prefer? I keep my work at home stuff separate at BFO, or integrate it here into my whole experience as a young woman in Affiliate Marketing who telecommutes? Any opinions are welcome!
All that said, I feel better! And here’s a recap of some of the more interesting articles around the blogosphere that I read this week.
- Lisa Barone live blogged the Effective Affiliate Strategies session at PubCon this week. Good notes!
- Another take on PubCon from an affiliate standpoint was the faithful Shawn Collins with his PubCon 2008 Recap. I’m sure either Manda or Brandy will post a recap of their PubCon experience once they get back to Texas next week.
- For my blogger buddies out there, DailyBlogTips posted a handy article 50 Simple Ways to Gain RSS Subscribers. I need to work on this myself, I admit.
- Black Ink Project 2.0 is now available for the low price of $97.
- Back to Lisa Barone, she also posted a recap of her entire PubCon Liveblogging Coverage.
New Edge Media Website is Live!
Monday
Oct 20, 2008
At long last, the website for New Edge Media is live and operational (almost)! Go check it out immediately: New Edge Media! I started with NEM almost a month ago and it’s been great so far. We’re doing a lot of awesome things, and there hasn’t been any shortage of work for me. Right now most of my efforts have been directed towards the PrintPlace.com affiliate program, getting everything running off the ground.
We offer a lot of great services at New Edge, including Affiliate Marketing, Email Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, and Paid Search Marketing.
The blog link isn’t operational yet since our company blog isn’t quite ready for unveiling to the public just yet. We are excited to chonicle our journey as a new company in this crazy space. It’ll feature blog posts by our CEO, Brandy Eddings, as well as by our entire senior staff.
Another great development ready to unveil today is that we now have a PrintPlace.com Sub-Forum on the AffSpot.com Affiliate Marketing Forums. I hope for this to be an active place for affiliates to talk to each other, collaborate, ask questions, and have fun. I really hope that it’ll explode into a really great area for discourse amongst affiliates and give everyone the opportunity to get exactly what they want out of the program.
I’m so excited! Please, we’re always open for feedback so if you have any, leave me a comment!
Me, Director of Affiliate Marketing?
Friday
Sep 26, 2008
Yep, that’s right. As of last week I’ve resigned from PsPrint and I’m now the Director of Affiliate Marketing with New Edge Media, an awesome media agency out of Dallas, TX. I was recently in Dallas right after attending CJU and Blog World Expo to meet some coworkers, get set up, and get the ball rolling on our projects.
I’d point you to the website for my excellent new employer, however they’re so busy working their tails off for clients that the site isn’t ready yet! So for now you’ll just have to take my word that we rock
.
Dallas was a great new experience, as I’d only ever touched down in Texas on layovers on my way to the East coast. I’m so glad that I rented a car and opted for the Garmin navigational device – it was very cool to drive around the city after work was over just exploring and seeing what there was to see. I did have my very awesome boss Brandy drive me through the infamous Grassy Knoll where JFK was assassinated…it’s fairly unimpressive for such a significant place. There is a modest plaque on the ground inset into the grass, but she had to shut up my rambles before I missed that we were driving through.
So I tell you this, dear reader, so you’ll perhaps forgive me for slacking on my reports from CJU and Blog World Expo. I’ll get on that right away, if you’ll have me
