In a possible fail of the Disqus comment system (say it ain’t so, @DanielHa!) I’ve been informed that the comments on my original blog post about my contest appear to be closed.
So in an effort to wrap this bad boy up, entries are welcome via comment on ANY post. Deadline is still Sunday.
I’m going to stick with my original way of entering – write a post in your blog about why you read my blog. Link baiting? I won’t deny it. I got a good suggestion from Andrew Wee of WhoIsAndrewWee.com to forget the link bait entry model and go with random or a survey. Good idea, but it’ll have to wait for the next contest. I’ve never been one to change the rules mid-game (unless it meant winning at Monopoly).
First prize is still a 6 month subscription to Trackur reputation management service courtesy of Andy Beal. Second prize is a Creative Vado pocket video camera courtesy of James Seligman. Third prize is 6 months of ad space at FreshySEO.com courtesy of Eric J. Odom.

This week has been a roller coaster along with a devastating heat wave here in the SF Bay Area. But still, I’ve trampled along and have some great stuff to share with you today.
- I just found this online – GoogleGuide.com has a great article on improving your page rank. There’s some great tips that I’m sure to follow since I need to get the PR up on this piece!
- Robert Scoble wrote a great post on why you should love Disqus comment system as much as some of us already do – now with Seesmic video comment integration!
- The highly anticipate book Gary Vaynerchuk’s 101 Wines came out this week. I bought my copy and I can’t wait for it to show up!
- Overstock.com followed suit and dropped their New York affiliates. It’s an epidemic! There’s some whispers that California might be the next state to jump on the bandwagon, but I’m crossing my fingers that it doesn’t happen.
- Scott Jangro got the shirt I sent him as a thanks for helping me fix my RSS problem here. MLB.com for the fast shipping and DHL to a PO box for the win!
Finally, I’ll say that’s it’s been hot as a mofo out here, so here’s some dehydration prevention tips from WebMD for you! Stay cool and have a great weekend!
Changes A-Foot

Frequent visitors here to TrishaLyn.com will notice that the design has changed, among other things. I haven’t updated in awhile because I’m trying to fix the issues first. This is all in an attempt to NOT corrupt my source feed.
As with all budding bloggers, I’ve screwed the pooch a bit and now having to fix what I broke. Apparently a combination of “Pretty Permalinks” structure and my old theme are killing my RSS feed for some reason. Whenever I change the permalink structure the source feed dies and I get an XML not well parsed message.
So I admit that I’m at a loss and don’t know how to fix this without going back to the ugly default permalink structure. And that also kills all the links that are out there & doesn’t sync previous Disqus comments to their posts, so I really do NEED to go back to the pretty permalinks… but how do I do that without losing the feed?
I’m working on it… if you have suggestions, throw them at me PLEASE. I’ll, of course, share the solution once I find it. I’m not giving up!
I’m getting some help from a heavy hitter in the blogosphere/affiliate marketing world… so let’s all hope this works out. By the by, I changed the design because I thought it was my old theme that was mucking things up, but I actually really like this new theme. Professional but still “me”. Meh anyway… HELP
