Affiliate Network:

• An intermediary between an affiliate and merchant.  For merchants, it offers tracking technology, reporting tools, payment processing and access to affiliates.  For affiliates, it offers a one-click application to merchants, reporting tools and payment aggregation.

The big networks out there are Commission Junction, LinkShare, and Pepperjam.  Most affiliates are members of more than one network to gain access to the best deals and a variety of merchants.  Merchants typically stick to one network with some exceptions in the interest of simplicity.

Here we are at the end of May already?!  It’s zoomed by really fast for me…I can’t believe summer is within our grasp!  It’s been a short week thanks to the Memorial Day weekend, so not much news to summarize for you this week, but plenty to get your brain juices going!

• With the recent appointment of Angel Djambazov as the new publisher for ReveNews, the posts have flooded in over there with some great financial news.  Now if someone would just replace that Azoogle banner ad with an Epic Advertising banner or something, they’ll be back up to date.
• The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) released their new Interactive Campaign Setup Best Practices document.  It’s full of a lot of useful information for those of us involved in performance marketing and is a totally free resource available for download on their website.
• The first issue of FeedFront Magazine has been shipped this week.  If you’ve signed up on the website for your FREE subscription, or if you attended Affiliate Summit West 08 in Las Vegas, you should be receiving your copy soon.
  
• Newbie network Pepperjam has partnered with the eBay Partner Network, which is very interesting considering that eBay made a huge departure from Commission Junction to be on their own at the beginning of this quarter.  It makes me ponder if this is a result of the PJ vs. CJ tussle from back in March.

Last week I was happy to attend the March lunch meeting of the Bay Area Affiliate Manager Coalition. It was a great meeting and I was super jazzed afterwards. I found, when trying to sit down and write this blog post, that I was way too excited about it.
