Exclusive 10% off at Born Pretty Store

I’m always looking for new sources of nail art supplies or polishes.  Despite reaching out to many nail polish brands, I still buy all of the polish you see me talk about myself, with a few exceptions.  Recently, I discovered the Born Pretty Store as a resource for very cheap nail art supplies.  I first learned about them on Instagram, but never really followed up to look at their site until I saw them post some new dolphin water decals and a coupon code in the caption.  Sold!

Finally Perfecting Salon Effects Application

Don’t you just hate it when something hailed as fool-proof is anything but?  I first tried the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips a couple of years ago when they were first introduced.  I needed a cute manicure quick while in Oregon for my brother-in-law’s wedding.  I went with the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in Love Letter, and for my first application it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t nearly as easy as they made themselves out to be, either.

Labor Day Weekend Manicure Woes

Not all manicures are winners.   I’m guessing that most of the stuff you might read about nail art just show you the winners.  But this is a tale of unrequited love.  I love what some nail artists I follow on Instagram have done with individually placing large glitter pieces in their nail art.  I love the idea of individual glitter, and I really love the price since I’ve acquired all of my little pots of glitter at Daiso Japan for $1.50 for a 3-pack. Sponsor Me to Attend BlogHer PRO 14

BlogHer just announced their next conference, BlogHer PRO ’14.  It will take place December 3 & 4 in Redwood City.  I had a good time attending BlogHer ’14 down in San Jose, but I was left wanting more take-home, actionable items that I could use to build my blog.  This conference seems to focus more on that aspect of blogging.  Most notably, it promises that I will walk away with a new, professional media kit.  This is something I know I need, and would love to have.

New York Skyline Manicure for #ASE14

A few weeks ago I made my triumphant return to New York City to attend and speak at Affiliate Summit East 2014.  Since I’ve been blogging about my nails for a little over a year now, and of course sharing all of those posts to Facebook, a lot of my industry colleagues have taken notice that I have a penchant for nail art and started asking me how I was going to do my nails.

Challenge: Accepted!

A TrishaLyn.com Redesign! Yay!

Things look different around here at TrishaLyn.com (unless you’re reading this through a feed reader, then things are pretty much the same…)!  I finally found a new theme from the fine folks at Elegant Themes that I’m happy with.  It’s simple, but I like the top navigation and right hand sidebar WAY better than everything being on the left.  I don’t know, it just seems more classic this way!
