For my June 2014 Julep Maven Box, I opted in for the Julep Three Wishes Collection. I loved the colors when viewing them online, and I was even happier with them in person. The three I opted for as an It Girl were Julep Savoy (an antique gold chrome), Julep Phia (an orchid iridescent chrome), and Julep Jennine (a full-coverage borealis blue stardust). The Stardust polishes are Julep’s answer to the textured polish craze, providing a matte glitter that gives just enough sparkle.
I was immediately struck by Jennine. I loved the shade, even though I don’t know where they got the idea to call it “borealis blue”, but it somehow works. My immediate impression of Savoy was more gunmetal silver than gold, but I can see it when next to Jennine. My first instinct was to just do a full manicure with the stardust, but then I reasoned that since these colors all came from the Three Wishes Collection, they should work together nicely. So on my right hand I did a ring-finger accent nail with Savoy and on my left the same but with Phia.
I think I like how Phia and Jennine turned out better. There’s not such a stark contrast in colors, but it works. Generally speaking, though, I’d probably be more likely to wear Savoy as a complete manicure since I don’t tend to wear a lot of pinks. While Phia’s described as orchid, it really read more pink than purple to me. But I did like it.
The next time I bust out the Julep Three Wishes Collection I’ll work with just Savoy and Phia as I think they would actually compliment each other better than either does with Jennine. I tried a chrome-on-chrome dotting pattern recently (more on that later) and it was interesting, so I could even try that with these two. We’ll see where inspiration takes me next!

I have a Julep problem/obsession. LOVE those colors. The Phia makes me happy.
You’re telling me. In 8 months I’ve gone from never have tried Julep to owning 39 bottles with 2 more on the way in my September Maven box. I blame the affiliate manager Char 🙂
