Hoppy Easter Manicure

Hoppy Easter!  I know, I know, it’s a played out pun, but considering this stamping job on my nails looks like I was hopping while trying to do the stamping, it’s appropriate.  A few months ago I bought a holiday bundle of stamping plates from Bundle Monster and even though I’d TOTALLY planned to use them for every applicable holiday this year, I really dropped the ball on that goal.  Good thing I didn’t have any money riding on that one.

With the diversification of my nail polish collection in the last few years, it’s been awhile since I used a Wet n’ Wild polish.  I was reminded that the MegaLast formula has great coverage, but I’m not a fan of the brush.  It’s scalloped in a weird way which is just not what I’m used to, but not necessarily bad either.  Two coats gave me a good solid base.  I slapped on Glisten & Glow’s HK Girl Fast Drying & Super Shiny Top Coat and called it a night, deciding to give my nails plenty of time to dry before attempting the stamping.

Things, as you can see, did not quite go as planned.

I was using White Konad Nail Stamping Polish, which has given me the best results in the past, but I was running into issues.  First, the scrapers weren’t scraping too well.  They worked better than the metal edged scrapers I’ve used in the past, but not as well as an old business card I had lying around.  So I quickly abandoned those.  Then, the rectangular stamper was throwing me off.  Things were getting shaky.  So I finally switched back to my trusty round stamper and abandoned my hopes and went for salvaging what you see.
