Zotoon Pure Silk Sleep Mask Review

Posted on Apr 2, 2015 in Reviews |

Recently I was given the opportunity by Zotoon via Tomoson to review the Pure Silk Sleep Mask.  I’ve used it a few times and I have to say that it’s one of the better sleep masks that I’ve used in awhile!  I highly recommend it!  While I did receive this product complimentary for review purposes, you know I’d never lie to you and I’m giving you my 100% honest opinion on this.
I was supplied with this product complimentary for review. Opinions are 100% mine.

Product Specs

Pure Silk Sleep MaskThe Pure Silk sleep mask is 100% silk.  It features an elastic band that has an adjustable buckle to make sure it’s not too tight but not going to slide around either.  I received a black mask, but it does also come in blue and red.  It is very well priced on Amazon for $9.99.  That might seem high at first blush for a sleep mask, but when you consider the material, it is totally more reasonable than other silk masks I’ve seen.

The mask that I received does not have any velcro closure, which is kind of a bummer since the description on Amazon makes this claim, but it’s not necessarily a feature I’d want anyway.  I’d be too afraid it would get caught in my hair (I’ve had other masks that did… never a fun time).

Use

I wore the mask to bed for a few weekend nights, knowing I’d want to sleep in and keep the California sun out of my eyes.  It was barely noticeable and really didn’t affect my sleep at all – in a good way!  I was able to sleep in (maybe a little too long) and never felt like the mask was a burden.  The fabric is very breathable and I didn’t feel like it was going to make me sweaty or anything gross.  I’ve had issues in the past with sleep masks sliding around and coming off, and because of the adjustable band I didn’t have that problem with this one.

Pure Silk Sleep Mask: AdjustableThe real test for me was yesterday when I had a migraine.  It was the middle of the day and I knew I had to lay down to try to get rid of the pain so I could get back to work.  I donned the Pure Silk sleep mask, hoping that the tension on my head would not add to the pain but that the dark fabric would keep the afternoon sun coming in through the curtains out of my eyes enough to snooze.  I am very happy to report that it worked like a champ – the mask’s band did not contribute to the headache I definitely didn’t notice any sun streaming through.  It’s the perfect size for my face to completely cover my eyes and rest on the apples of my cheeks comfortably.

A bit of a warning: at first, I didn’t realize it was adjustable.  So the first night I tried it, I put it on and ended up taking it off before I actually fell asleep because it was too tight.  The next day I noticed the adjustable nature of the elastic strap, so don’t repeat my mistake!  I have not yet needed to test it’s claim of being easy to wash, but as I don’t tend to use a sleep mask every night, it shouldn’t get too funky for some time.

Verdict

Pure Silk sleep mask: adjustableI would 100% recommend this affordable yet luxurious sleep mask to any of my light sleeping compatriots out there!  I’m glad I found a good sleep mask that I can travel with and it’ll comfortable keep out the light and not be too bulky to slip into my purse or travel bag.
