goPURE 100% Pure Peppermint Oil Review

Recently I was given the opportunity by Advovia Mineral Skin Care via Tomoson to review goPURE 100% Pure Peppermint Oil.  I am not too into holistic medicine or essentials oils as some people I know, but I am a big fan of general aromatherapy. I’m definitely impressed with the goPURE brand and I’m already a believer in peppermint EVERYTHING.I was supplied with this product complimentary for review. Opinions are 100% mine.

Product SpecsgoPURE 100% Pure Peppermint Oil

goPURE 100% Pure Peppermint Oil is cold-pressed and comes in a 4 oz bottle – much larger than most.  It comes with a glass pipette cap that can be used in place of the flat cap it comes packaged in.  This large bottle retails for $14.89 on Amazon.com.

Use

A few years ago I was turned on to using peppermint oil to help relieve headaches and migraines and I’ve been a big believer ever since. A drop rubbed into my temples, maybe just above my eyes if it’s a particularly bad migraine, and sometimes a couple on the back of my neck do wonders to help ease the pain and help me get over a migraine much quicker.  Anyone I know can tell you that one of my favorite aromas is peppermint and I usually buy up as many bath & body products in peppermint as I can – body wash, hand soap, lotion, lip balm, you name it.

The goPURE bottle is definitely unlike the other oils I’ve bought in the past. Most of the other oils I’ve purchased had the plastic insert inside the mouth of the bottle that regulates the flow to a drop or so at a time, so this is a little easy to get too much if you’re not careful. A little does go a long way.

goPURE 100% Pure Peppermint OilI did notice that there’s a slight difference in aroma between this brand and another brand I have. I don’t know if it’s because this brand is cold pressed and I don’t know if the other brand is, but I quickly didn’t notice much difference after living with the goPURE for awhile. I did receive a bottle complimentary for review purposes, but I’ll definitely come back to this brand once this bottle is done.

Since I received such a huge bottle, I did a little research into other uses for peppermint oil other than headache/migraine relief and tried it out.  I put a few drops into my hair one day on my scalp to revive me one slow afternoon, and it totally did give me a bit of a pick me up.  The tingly sensation was also nice and lasted quite some time.

I also decided to add some drops to my John Frieda Radiant Red Colour Protecting Shampoo and the tube of fragrance free Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion that I keep in my car.  While I added enough for a noticeable difference in the lotion, there was really no affect in  the shampoo.  Since it is for color-treated hair, I’m reluctant to add more and potentially throw off that use, so I’m calling that one a wash.

goPure Peppermint Oil Meets Bath SaltI’m going a touch off the deep end planning & crafting for my friend Jennie’s baby sprinkle for her second kid and as part of the favors, I am including bath salt.  I bought clear/white unscented mineral & dead sea salt at Michael’s and added some soap food coloring to it.  Of course, since I have all this peppermint oil, I should use it in all ways I can, right?  So I added a full pipette full to the 2 pounds of bath salts.  It’s a little much, but I’m hoping that once I spread it out into the individual organza bags it won’t be so concentrated and potent!  Should make for a lovely bath for someone!

General Uses

As mentioned, I did some research for this, so let me share some of the other uses I found for peppermint oil:

  • Colds & Congestion: Rub some peppermint oil (with a carrier oil) onto your chest or put a few drops into a humidifier to clear your sinuses.
  • Motion Sickness: Put a couple drops onto the inside of your wrist to help relieve motion sickness or just nausea in general.
  • Indigestion: Rub a few drops onto your abdomen or drink some mint tea to soothe an upset stomach.
  • Stress: Use the oil in a diffuser (either one with a candle or an electric one) to help relieve stress.  This can also help improve your concentration and energy.  You can also add peppermint oil, lavender, and geranium essential oils to a bath to help melt away your stress from a long day.
  • Bug Bites: A dab of peppermint oil can relieve the itch!

goPURE 100% Pure Peppermint OilVerdict

To be fair, I was already a believer in using peppermint oil and aromatherapy.  But now that I’ve done some research, and have a huge bottle to use, I’m excited to try it out for other uses.  I’ll definitely come back to the goPURE brand once this bottle runs dry and for any other aromatherapy I may try in the future.

Hi! I enjoyed reading about your experience with peppermint oil. I have also used it for headaches and it lead me to experiment more with essential oils.
Someone told me they used it (with a carrier oil) on their belly to relive them of nausau-haven’t tried it myself, but FYI 🙂
